storefront seizure on lafayette.
[listening - stereolab: abc music - the radio 1 sessions (disc 2).]
in the midst of the weather deciding what season it is, thursday night, i walked home for the first time in a while and after i had just left a voice mail with my brother, i stopped in front of this wild toy store on lafayette south of canal.
an army of pimping bruce lee action figures! man, if they could clone bruce lee fifteen times, and pick out the 1970s coolest fashions, it would be safe to say that any homeland would be secure.
along with the village people's bruce lee figures, there was something else in the front window: godzilla toys.
of course, being a total nimrod wanting to go home, i didn't go in. it looked like it was a video rental place just a little outside chinatown, but i should go back in the name of investigative coolness.
the first thing i was reminded of was lupin the third, that nutty anime from the 1970s (naturally) featuring a gang of noble but goofy thieves. cartoon network has it on adult swim and aside from the typical anime tendencies, which i find dreary, the storyline and the putdowns are barnone. i'm not keen on the cutesy eyed, over-emoting hero worship anime and manga normally have, but i like slapstick and telling people they're worse than robery downey juniour. and i love fujiko.
....for her tough independence.
and, i admit, that rack. ye godz!
