it was meetup time for the nyc webloggers this evening at the cramped jazz & java. attendance = 3: me, fearsome josh and liz the zeebah. sometimes the small groups work best to really meet people, since the entire social obligation is kept rather simple. still, even with just 3, it was a fight to get a table, even an odd moment where one coffee jockey tried to stir an older reclining lady from her spot by the rocking chair.

except, uh, modded, which makes for a gripping glitchpop sound and a definite device of nostalgia. i remember going to a family friend's place, with similarly aged kids who were never home, so my brother and i would almost ransack the toybox. the speak & spell was almost hypnotic, with its rhythmic responses for right and wrong answers.
